EDII – Killikulam Agri Business Incubation Forum conducted a paid webinar titled “Introduction to Micro Greens” which is novel venture to step in for entrepreneurs. The webinar was initiated by Mr. K. Arun, CEO, EDII – KABIF and presided over by Dr. R. Swarnapriya, Director and Nodal Officer, EDII – KABIF. There were 17 participants who attended the webinar with the session being taken over by Dr. Rajesh Nallaiah, CEO and Founder, RNR Agri Developers, Madurai. The class went on for 45 minutes and the interaction went on over 45 minutes as the participants were engaged in it. Further offline sessions were welcomed by the participants and vote of thanks was given by Mr. Deena Dayalan S K, Deputy Manager, EDII – KABIF.

 EDII KABIF had organised a one day workshop titled “mushroom production” to provide insights on growing edible mushrooms and raise awareness of their potential in current markets for SRI SARADA COLLEGE FOR WOMEN Tirunelveli on 06.02.2024. The event was presided over by Dr. R. Swarnapriya (Director and Nodal Officer – KABIF) and session was conducted by experts from Department of Plant Pathology, VOC. AC & RI, Killikulam. Dr. E.G. Ebenezar Ponsingh Malraja, professor, handled the types and uses of mushroom with market potential followed by Dr. J. Sheela, Professor and head, handled the practical session of growing mushroom with its procedure and precaution. After the session, the oral feedback was received from the participants and certificates was distributed.

 EDII KABIF had organized an one-day workshop on taking Agrotourism as business venture within the premises of KABIF on 31.01.2024. The event was presided over by Dr. R. Swarnapriya (Director and Nodal Officer – KABIF) and Dr. M. Theradimani (Dean, V.O.C. Agricultural college and Research Institute, Killikulam). The session was taken over by Mrs. Uma Pachaiyappan (Avarai Iyarkai Valviyal Pannai, Konal). The Forenoon session had theory classes on basic requirements and integration for agrotourism followed by the afternoon session which include visit to the various units of integration for agrotourism such as wetland, Nursery and blackbuck sanctuary for the participants exposure.

As a part of curriculum, Agriculture Vocational Students of Government Higher Secondary School, Karungulam visited EDII – Killikulam Agribusiness Incubation Forum (EDII – KABIF) to explore on the Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Agricultural Sector on 29.01.2024. Mr. S. K. Deena Dayalan, Deputy Manager interacted with the students to give them a perspective of entrepreneurship. Students accompanied by our Technical Assistant Mr. S Manikandalingam and Mr. C. Sivakumar made a visit to Millet processing unit, Palmyrah processing unit and Hydroponics units and explained how incubation forum supporting the young mind towards entrepreneurship

Dr. V. Geethalakshmi, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, presided over the opening ceremony of the EDII – KABIF incubatees mart on 29.01.2024. The event happened in the heartwarming presence of Dr. M. Raveendran, Director of Research at TNAU, Dr. R. Swarnapriya, Special Officer and Director and Nodal Officer EDII – KABIF and Dr. M. Theradimani, Dean of VOC AC & RI, Killikulam. Out of the two counters, one has been rented for our incubatee Mr. Essaki Raja, Aiyini Ventures to run bakery products, while the other showcases products from all our incubatees for sale with notable products from Millet leaf, Kredi Grapes and Child and Youth Development Foundation(CYDF).
